Tahrat is very important in islam, The Arabic word for purity and cleanliness isTaharah.
Islam greatly approves cleanliness. According to the Qur’an: Allah loves those that turn to Him in repentance and purify themselves (2:222).
Wudu (ablution) is required for performing Salah. This preparation includes making sure that we are clean from any physical impurities and performing Wudu.

Narrated by ‘Abdullah (r.a.) : The Prophet (pbuh) said: “Whoever makes wuduq and makes it well, his sins would come out from his body, even coming out from under his nails.

Narrated Abu Hurayrah radhiAllahu `anhu: Allah's Apostle said:

The Prophet (SAWS) said “My people will be summoned on the Day of Judgment, with bright faces and with white hands and feet due to the traces of wudhu” (Bukhari & Muslim)
Rasulullah 'alaihi Shalawatullahi wa Salaam said that Malaikat will spend the night inside the clothes of someone who do Wudhu before he sleep and he asleep while the Wudhu remain.

. Oral Hygiene is another significant consequence of the Wudu. The mouth is rinsed and the teeth are brushed with miswak (a plant) and surely cause a considerable decrease in all the infections in the mouth, teeth and gums. Having clean and shiny teeth adds on the beauty of smiling face and helpful in producing a million dollar smile.

But if ye are ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from offices of nature, or ye have been in contact with women, and ye find no water, then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands, Allah doth not wish to place you in a difficulty, but to make you clean, and to complete his favor to you, that ye may be grateful.” (Surah Maida :6)
