Virtue of Coming Masjid Early for Jumu’ah (Friday) Prayer
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ، وَقَفَتِ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ عَلَى باب الْمَسْجِدِ يَكْتُبُونَ الأَوَّلَ فَالأَوَّلَ، وَمَثَلُ الْمُهَجِّرِ كَمَثَلِ الَّذِي يُهْدِي بَدَنَةً، ثُمَّ كَالَّذِي يُهْدِي بَقَرَةً، ثُمَّ كَبْشًا، ثُمَّ دَجَاجَةً، ثُمَّ بَيْضَةً، فَإِذَا خَرَجَ الإِمَامُ طَوَوْا صُحُفَهُمْ، وَيَسْتَمِعُونَ الذِّكْرَ
Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet ﷺ: “When it is a Friday, the angels stand at the gate of the Masjid and keep on writing the names of the persons coming to the Masjid in succession according to their arrivals. The example of the one who enters the Masjid in the earliest hour is that of one offering a camel (in sacrifice). The one coming next is like one offering a cow and then a ram and then a chicken and then an egg respectively. When the Imam comes out (for Jumua prayer) they (i.e. angels) fold their papers and listen to the Khutba (Sermon).”
حضرت ابوہریرہ روایت کرتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جب جمعہ کا دن آتا ہے تو فرشتے مسجد کے دروازے پر کھڑے ہو جاتے ہیں اور سب سے پہلے اور اس کے بعد آنے والوں کے نام لکھتے ہیں اور سویرے جانے والا اس شخص کی طرح ہے جو اونٹ کی قربانی کرے پھر اس شخص کی طرح جو گائے کی قربانی کرے اس کے بعد دنبہ پھر مرغی، پھر انڈا صدقہ کرنے والے کی طرح ہے جب امام خطبہ کے لئے جاتا ہے تو وہ اپنے دفتر لپیٹ لیتے ہیں اور خطبہ کی طرف کان لگاتے ہیں۔
