WHAT IS #FB ALL ABOUT?
#Brothers & #Sisters : #Ponder
These are very important questions that each and every muslim should ponder upon.we all know that facebook is the worlds largest social networking site with millions of users. And we are 1 among them.
Now as in each and every matter we should analyse its islamic value. the use of fb depends upon the users intention.we know that every thing around us has its advantages and disadvantages.its upon us to choose what we want.thus fb too has its own good and bad. so if a person who wants to have evil like chatting with girls, having illegal relationships hiding from parents, siblings, life partners ,uploading evil pics, uploading self pics just for likes and comments and get fame, abuse people or religion, spread gossips, backbite, harass, break relations, entertainment, waste time, being silent on islamic matters etc takes the negative aspects and easily OPEN HIS WAY to #JAHANNAM.
but if a person is here to change himself, gain knowledge, better interaction with his muslim brothers, fight evil, spread islam, etc then fb can OPEN HIS WAY to #JANNAH.
"Whosoever chooses to follow guidance, follows it for his own good; whosoever goes astray, goes astray to his own loss." [17: 15]
If you do good, you do good to yourselves. (likewise) If you do evil, you do evil to yourselves. (Qur'an: Chapter 17, Verse 7).
so it is upon us that what facebook has to be all about
A muslim has much to do in fb.if utilised properly in the way of ALLAAH fb can be a great asset for us opening our gateway to jannath.
1.Gaining knowledge and spreading it.
Facebook is a good source of gaining islamic knowledge. We know that there r many pages and groups that spread authentic islamic knowledge. Now lets c sm amazing hadith and ayath regarding ilm.
It was narrated that Anas bin Mâlik said: The Messenger of Allah said “Seeking knowledge is a duty upon every Muslim”. ” (Sunan Ibn e Majah, Book of Sunnah, Hadith no 224, Classified as Sahih)
Hadith of Abu Darda “If anyone travels on a road in search of knowledge, Allah will cause him to travel on one of the roads of Paradise. The angels will lower their wings in their great pleasure with one who seeks knowledge, the inhabitants of the heavens and the Earth and the fish in the deep waters will ask forgiveness for the learned man.The superiority of the learned man over the worshipper is like that of the moon, on the night when it is full, over the rest of the stars. The learned are the heirs of the Prophets, and the Prophets leave neither dinar nor dirham, leaving only knowledge, and he who takes it takes a big fortune.” [Abu Dawud]
Muhammad bin Jubair bin Mut’im narrated that his father said: “The Messenger of Allah stood up at Khaif in Mina and said: ‘May Allah cause his face to shine, the man who hears what I say and conveys it (to others). (Sunan Ibn e Majah, Book of Sunnah, Hadith no 231, Classified as Sahih)
Sabl bin Mu’ddh bin Anas narrated from his father that the Prophet isaid: “Whoever teaches some knowledge will have the reward of the one who acts upon it, without that detracting from his reward inthe slightest.” Sunan Ibn e Majah, Book of Sunnah, Hadith no 240, Classified as Hasan
“It is only those who have knowledge amongst His slaves that fear Allah. ” [QURAN - Soorah Al-Fatir (35): 28]
“Allah will raise up to [suitable] ranks [and position] those of you who believe and have been granted knowledge.” [Al‐Mujadila 58:11]
So its understood that gaining and spreading knowledge is of great importance as it takes us closer to ALLAAH,understand haram and halal etc.,so if we are in fb we get more sources of knowledge.there are many famous scholars and students of knowledge who are doing a great job.
BUT remember these- Reported by Abu Hurairah : The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "He who does not acquire knowledge with the sole intention of seeking the Pleasure of Allah but for worldly gain, will not smell the fragrance of Jannah on the Day of Resurrection.''[AbuDawud]
Its also a sin to conceal ilm.
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet said: There is no man who memorizes knowledge then concealsit, but he will be brought forth on the day of Resurrection bridled with chains of fire,” (Sunan Ibn e Majah, Book of Sunnah, Hadith no 261, Classified as Hasan
2.Enjoining good and forbidding bad-And standing for islam to the world.
ALLAH says- You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah [3:110]
So shouldnt we enjoin right and forbid wrong -
"Let there arise from amongst you a group calling to the Goodness (al-Khayr) and enjoining what is good (al-Ma’ruf)and forbidding what is evil (al-Munkar); and those are the ones who will attain success" [Ale-Imran: 104]
“Help you one another in Al‑Birr and At‑Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is Severe in punishment” [al-Maa’idah 5:2]
Hadith - Sahih Al-Bukhari 8.50, Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah The Prophet said, "Enjoining all that is good is a Sadaqa."
Whoever recommends and helps a good cause becomes a partner therein: And whoever recommends and helps an evil cause, shares in its burden: And Allah hath power over all things. al-Qur’an
"Those who believe, fight in the Cause of Allâh, and those who disbelieve, fight in the cause of Tâghût (Satan,). So fight you against the friends of Shaitân (Satan); Ever feeble indeed is the plot of Shaitân (Satan)." (Surah An-Nisa, 76)
"O you who believe! What (excuse) have you that when it is said to you: Go forth in Allah's way, you should incline heavily to earth; are you contented with this world's life instead of the hereafter? But the provision of this world's life compared with the hereafter is but little." "If you do not go forth, He will chastise you with a painful chastisement and bring in your place a people other than you, and you will do Him no harm; and Allah has power over all things." Surah At Taubah
So it becomes clear that its our duty to recommend good and forbid wrong And fight for islam atleast with words.
