WHAT CAN WE DO IN RAMADAN? PRAY THE FIVE DAILY PRAYERS IN THE MASJID
IS IT COMPULSORY TO PRAY ALL THE FARD PRAYERS IN THE MASJID? PART III
EVIDENCES FROM THE SUNNAH
Hadith #1: Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "By Him in Whose Hands my life is, I was about to order for collecting fire wood and then order someone to pronounce the Adhan for the prayer and then order someone to lead the people in prayer and then I would go from behind and burn the houses of men who did not present themselves for the (compulsory congregational) prayer.
By Him in Whose Hands my life is, if anyone of you had known that he would receive a bone covered with meat or two (small) pieces of meat present in between two ribs, he would come for 'Isha' prayer." [Sahih Al Bukhari, Book #11, Hadith #617]
In another narration, it mentions that the reason he did not do this was for the sake of the women and children of such houses. Subhaan Allah! The Mercy to Mankind wanted to burn the houses of some people with his own hands ???
Do you know how merciful he (Salla Allahu 'aleihi wa sallam) was toward his companions?
It was narrated from Yazeed ibn Thaabit (may Allaah be pleased with him) that they went out with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) one day and he saw a new grave. He said: “What is this?”
They said: It is so and so, the freed slave woman of Banu So and so (the Messenger of Allaah recognized her name); she had died at noon when you were taking a nap, and we did not want to wake you up for her.
The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) stood and the people formed rows behind him, and he said takbeer four times (i.e., offered the funeral prayer). Then he said: “No one should die when I am still among you without you telling me, for my prayer for him will be a mercy.” [Narrated by al-Nasaa’i (2022); classed as hasan by Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr in al-Tamheed (6/271). Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Nasaa’i]
Subhaan Allah, he would be eager to offer the salatul janaazah over a SLAVE who had no status in the community whatsoever, asking Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala) to forgive her !!! This was how merciful he was towards this Ummah; and yet, he wanted to BURN down some people’s houses?
This tells us the status of those who do not go to the masjid to offer their obligatory prayers in congregation.
