Regeneration in Arthropods
If the sea crab loses a claw, it knows that part of its body has been lost and it quickly replaces it by means of reactivating cells and genetic factors. When the process is complete, the cells stop working because they somehow realize that it is now time to rest.
If a centipede is cut in two, it is able to regenerate itself from one of the two halves.
