Charity in Ramadan !
Ramadan is a special time of year -- a time when Muslims around the world take a step back from their daily routines and focus on community, charity, fasting, and prayer.Ibn Abbas(Radhi Allahu anhu) described that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the most generous of people, and even more so during the month of Ramadan. This training period which makes realize the believers that comforts and sustenance(provision of food) which Allah has provided them is first a 'BLESSING' for them and secondarily it enhance believer's affection and care towards poor section of society to take notice of their need in their needy times which is in the form of either giving sadaqah or zakat.
The parable of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah, is that of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower.) (2:261)
This is a parable that Allah made of the multiplication of rewards for those who spend in His cause, seeking His pleasure. Allah multiplies the good deed ten to seven hundred times.
The parable in the Ayah is more impressive on the heart than merely mentioning the number seven hundred. This Ayah indicates that Allah `grows’ the good deeds for its doers, just as He grows the plant for whoever sows it in fertile land.
Is spending in the way of Allah( to poor, orphans, widows etc) benefit the receiver of charity alone ?
No,It's reward is given to the doer of good. Allah(azza wa jal) mentions,""And whatever you spend in good, it is for YOURSELF, when you spend not except seeking Allah's Countenance. And whatever you spend in good, it will be REPAID to you in full, and you shall not be wronged.'' (2:272)
