✦ A UNIQUE TAKE ON FORGIVENESS ✦
☛ A Small Inspirational Story of Young Child
One rainy afternoon I was driving along one of the main streets of town, taking those extra precautions necessary when the roads are wet and slick.
Suddenly, my daughter, spoke up from her relaxed position in her seat. “Dad, I’m thinking of something.”
This announcement usually meant she had been pondering some fact for a while, and was now ready to expound all that her six-year-old mind had discovered. I was eager to hear. What are you thinking?” I asked.
“The rain,” she began, “is like sin, and the windshield wipers are like Allah wiping our sins away.”
After the chill bumps raced up my arms I was able to respond. “That’s really good,” Then my curiosity broke in. How far would this little girl take this revelation? So I asked…
“Do you notice how the rain keeps on coming? What does that tell you?”
She didn’t hesitate one moment with her answer: “We keep on sinning, and Allah just keeps on forgiving us.”
I will always remember this whenever I turn my wipers on.
Holy Quran teaches us to recite many supplication, for forgiveness and repentance. The following are few:
☞ A Beautiful Dua from Holy Quran: "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers." [Surah Al A'raf 7:23].
☞ Another Beautiful Dua from Holy Quran:”… "My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful." [Surah Al Muminun 23:118].
☞ Allah Almighty Says in Holy Quran: “And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.” [Surah An Nur 24:31].
☞ Allah Almighty Says in Holy Quran: "...Seek forgiveness of your Lord and repent to Him, and He will let you enjoy a good provision for a specified term and give every doer of favor his favor..." [Surah Hud 11:3].
☞ One of the Hadith Saying, Safwaan ‘Assaal narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: “Allah opened a door west side for seventy years for the purpose of repentance, it will not be closed until the sun will rises from the west.” [At-Tirmidhi]
