AL-HAYY, AL-QAYYOOM



Photo: ‎Names of Allah 20: Al-Hayy (the Ever-Living), al-Qayyoom (the Self-Sustaining). The unique quality of Divine life is that it is not preceded by non-existence nor does it come to an end. It is not granted by others nor can it be taken from Him. This characteristic easily distinguishes Allah from His creatures and when properly understood prevents the worship of creation. The other attribute of Self-Subsistence also indicates that He uniquely has no need from creation. To illustrate this, Allah described Prophet Jesus and his Mother as eating food, indicative of their humanity and not befitting of God. (الحي) (القيوم) #NamesOfAllah #AlHayy #alQayyoom‎
