Congratulations, Dul Hijja Began

{ Eid Al Adha will fall on Saturday October 4, 2014, in Saudi Arabia, accordng to Saudi Supreme Court as the crescent moon has been sighted.}

The excellence of these ten days have been mentioned in the Qur'an and the Sunnah.

Allah says in the Qur'an:

"By the dawn and by the ten nights … " [Al-Qur'an 89:1-2]

" … and remember the name of Allah in the appointed days." [Al-Qur'an 2:203]

Narrated Ibn Abbas: The Prophet said, "No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of Dhul Hijja)."

(Sahih Al Bukhari, Book #15, Hadith #86)

Good deeds can be performed in these holy days......

They include prayer,
Charity,
Fasting,
Late night prayer (qiyam al-layl),
Recitation of Qur'an,
Kindness to parents (birr al-walidayn),
Maintaining ties of kinship (silat al-arham),
Commanding good and forbidding evil,
Feeding the poor,
Helping the oppressed,
Freeing Muslim prisoners.

May Allah Guide us to achieve the maximum in these holy days.
