Common mistakes in Salah..

A serious ignorance that is found today in the Ummah is the leaving space between the partner on the left and right side in a congregation i.e leaving a space for shaytaan to enter.

Narrated Anas:

The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said "Straighten your rows for I see you from behind my back." Anas added "Everyone of us used to put his shoulder with the shoulder of his companion and his foot with the foot of his companion." [1]

Narated Ibn Umar:

The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said "Set the rows in order, stand shoulder to shoulder, close the gaps, be pliant in the hands of your brethren, and do not leave openings for the devil. If anyone joins up a row, Allah will join him up, but if anyone breaks a row, Allah will cut him off" [2]

Narrated Anas: The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said "Stand close together in your rows, bring them near one another, and stand neck to neck, for by Him in Whose hand my soul is, I see the devil coming in through openings in the row just like a small black sheep" [3]

There are many other authentic hadiths which clearly talk about this matter of standing close with each other without having a GAP between your partner in the salah.
