Please be advised that women are neither inferior nor unequal to men but part and parcel of Allah‘s Creation based on truth, absolute justice and perfect balance in all respect. For example if women as wives enjoyed lower status than their husband, they as mothers enjoy three time higher status than their counterparts (fathers)
There are, however, some sites and role of women in Islam which have lead to misconception and even some of these are due to ill practice of treatment of women in Muslim countries and also some of them are even aired by so call Muslim liberated women. All such misconceptions, however, are baseless and due lack of true knowledge of Islam. Accordingly, we would stress that Islam has empowered women with the most progressive rights (unheard of in other religions and civilizations) at the outset since the 7th century.
Islam has an extensive tradition of protecting the civil liberties of women based on the guidelines set forth by Allah [SWT] and His Messenger (SAW). Women are empowered with many rights and protections under Islamic law and are honored with a dignified stature in society to the extent that the Prophet (SAW) said: "When any woman prays her five, fasts her month, guards her body and obeys her husband it is said to her: Enter paradise from whichever of its doors you wish." [Ibn Hibban (sahih per Al-Albani)]
