Be content with .....

Allah Messenger (peace be upon him) said “If the son of Adam had a valley full of gold, he would like to have two valleys" [1].
Ponder back over the days when you were praying for the things which you have now. There is never a time where you will not desire or need something, I noticed when I pondered at those around me and upon my self that throughout their lives they have always desired or felt like they needed something by which they will attain happiness. They would say to themselves once I get this I will be happy but a year onwards I would meet them and they will be in desperate need of something else.
Humans are needy creatures and we will always be in need, the wealthy one desires more wealth thus works more and they will be in a state of depression or sadness until then but they never really achieve what they desire because once they achieve it they become in need of something else. The saying of Ibn al-Qayyim comes to mind "contentment is the paradise of this world" and the saying of Imam Shaf'iee "The rich man is not rich due to his property and wealth but he is rich due to this contentment" [2].
Be thankful and grateful for what Allah has given you and work but remember that if all doesnt go well or as you dreamt that this life was never meant to be perfect and that perfection is in jannah. One of the doctors of the heart said "He let us experience this life so that separation from this life would become easy for us" i.e we would realise the imperefection here and long for the afterlife".
