"I am from Malta, Europe. I always loved the hijab but never understood why women wear it. I always admired women and saw them smart and elegant when wearing the hijab. Recently I started reading the Quran (I'm still new and need to learn a lot). From day one, I started wearing the hijab, and believe me it's not easy being in a Christian country. I have heard comments such as you are a slave, your man makes you do this? You dress like this to please your man? They can't understand the peace I feel within when I'm wearing the hijab. They can't understand that I feel strong and more disciplined in myself. Boys don't treat me like I am a piece of meat anymore but most of all, they can't understand I wear hijab for the sake of the great Allah."-Vanessa
