Inna Lilahi Wa Inna Elayhi Rajeoun
Indeed the tragic news about the crane falling in Makkah is upsetting. But as Muslims we hold onto what our Rab and our Nabi (S) had told us about such events.
They were taken back to Allah Azzawajal on the best day of the Friday, in the most blessed place on Earth, doing one of the best deeds and died by being crushed. Indeed there are signs in such deaths. Please note the Hadith about dieing on a Friday being protected from the trials of the grave is regarded as weak some scholars and Hasan (fair) by others. But no doubt Friday is the best day of the week.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said (as part of a lengthy hadeeth):
والذي يموت تحت الهدم شهيد
"...and the one who dies beneath a collapsed building is a shaheed..."

اللهم ارحم الموتى وتقبلهم في الشهداء فهم ضيوفك وفي حرمك وفي ساعة جمعة وأحسن عزاء أهاليهم واشف المصابين فأنت الشافي... يا ارحم الراحمين
May Allah Azzawajal accept them as martyrs, grant relief to the injured and protect the rest of the Hujjaj.
