Narrated Hafs bin `Asim:

أَنَّ حَفْصَ بْنَ عَاصِمٍ، حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ سَافَرَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ فَقَالَ صَحِبْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَلَمْ أَرَهُ يُسَبِّحُ فِي السَّفَرِ، وَقَالَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ ذِكْرُهُ {لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ}.

Narrated Hafs bin `Asim: Ibn `Umar went on a journey and said: “I accompanied the Prophet (ﷺ) and he did not offer optional prayers during the journey, and Allah says: ‘Verily! In Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) you have a good example to follow.’” (Al-Quran 33.21)

حفص بن عاصم بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے سفر کیا تو فرمایا کہ میں نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ رہا۔ تو میں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو سفر میں نفل نماز پڑھتے ہوئے نہیں دیکھا اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا کہ تمہارے لئے اللہ کے رسول میں بہترین نمونہ ہے۔
