The filthiest sin: RIBA (INTEREST)

Question: Is it permitted for Muslims to engage in interest-based transactions in our personal and professional lives?
Answer: Those Muslims who engage in interest-based transactions must take notice of a stern warning issued by Allah, The Most High in the Noble Qur’aan.
Allah has said,
“O you who believe! Fear Allaah and give up what remains of your demand for Riba, if you are indeed believers. If you do it not, take notice of war from Allaah and His Messenger (Peace be upon him).” Surah Al-Baqarah Ayah 278-279
This phrase, ‘take notice of war from Allah and His Messenger’ is not used for any other sins in the Noble Qur’an, thus explaining the devastating consequences of this sin.
Dealing in Interest-based transactions are not only looked down upon and referred to as a sin but the Prophet ﷺ articulated, “A dirham which a man consumes as riba knowingly is worse before Allaah than 36 acts of zina.” (Saheeh Al-Jaami’ no 3375) and on another occasion he said, “There are 72 types of riba, the least of which is like a man committing incest with his mother.” (Saheeh Al-Jaami’ no 3537)
Are you willing to give up this filthy sin?
