Dua is Worship and therefore should not be direct to anyone other than Allah تعالى

Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: 

Dua (Supplication) is Ibaada (Worship) Then he صلى الله عليه وسلم recited the verse, 

"“And your Lord says: Call upon Me, I will answer you; surely those who are too proud for My worship shall soon enter hell abased.” (Surah al Mu’min, 60)

(Abu Dawood and Tirmidhi with an authentic Chain also declared authentic {saheeh) by Shaykh al-Albaanee in Saheehul'Jaami' (no. 3407)).

ﻭَﻋَﻦْ ﺍﻟﻨُّﻌْﻤَﺎﻥِ ﺑْﻦِ ﺑَﺸِﻴﺮٍ ﺭﺿﻲ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ 

ﻋﻨﻪ ، ﻋَﻦِ ﺍﻟﻨَّﺒِﻲِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ﻗَﺎﻝَ : «ﺍﻟﺪُّﻋَﺎﺀُ ﻫُﻮَ ﺍﻟْﻌِﺒَﺎﺩَﺓُ»، ﻭَﻗَﺮَﺃَ: ﴿ﻭَﻗَﺎﻝَ ﺭَﺑُّﻜُﻢُ ﺍﺩْﻋُﻮﻧِﻲ ﺃَﺳْﺘَﺠِﺐْ ﻟَﻜُﻢْ﴾ ﺇِﻟَﻰ ﻗَﻮْﻟِﻪِ : ﴿ﺩَﺍﺧِﺮِﻳﻦَ﴾.

| ﺃَﺧْﺮَﺟَﻪُ ﺃَﺑُﻮ ﺩَﺍﻭُﺩَ ﻭﺍﻟﺘﺮﻣﺬﻱ ﺑِﺈِﺳْﻨَﺎﺩٍ ﺻَﺤِﻴْﺢٍ |
