[Al-Quran 16: 33-34]

Quran’s Lesson - Surah An-Nahl 16, Verse 33-34, Part 14

هَلْ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَّا أَنْ تَأْتِيَهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ أَوْ يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلَٰكِنْ كَانُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ . فَأَصَابَهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا عَمِلُوا وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ

Do they (the disbelievers and polytheists) await but that the angels should come to them [to take away their souls (at death)], or there should come the command (i.e. the torment or the Day of Resurrection) of your Lord? Thus did those before them. And Allah wronged them not, but they used to wrong themselves. Then, the evil results of their deeds overtook them, and that at which they used to mock surrounded them.

کیا اب یہ لوگ اسی بات کا انتظار کر رہے ہیں کہ ان کے پاس فرشتے آئیں یا تیرے پروردگار کا حکم (عذاب) آجائے؟ ان سے پہلے بھی لوگوں نے یہی کچھ کیا تھا۔ اللہ نے تو ان پر ظلم نہیں کیا، وہ خود ہی اپنے آپ پر ظلم کر رہے تھے۔ پھر انھیں اپنے اعمال کے برے نتائج سے دوچار ہونا پڑا۔ اور جس عذاب کا وہ تمسخر اڑایا کرتے تھے اسی نے انھیں گھیر لیا۔
