✴️ IKHLAAS AND UPON THE SUNNAH ✴️

The correctness or incorrectness of the action is in accordance with the correctness or incorrectness of the intention:

Abdullah ibn Mubarak 171 AH (may Allah have mercy on him) said,

رب عمل صغير تعظمه النية و رب عمل كبير تصغره النية

“Perhaps a small deed becomes great because of the intention behind it, and perhaps a big deed becomes insignificant because of the intention behind it.”

NOW CHECK THIS OUT:

Hassan al-Basri (d.110 A.H.) said:

Statements cannot be correct except with actions; statements and actions cannot be correct except with an intention; and statements, actions and an intention cannot be correct except according to the Sunnah.

SO THERE ARE TWO CONDITIONS FOR AN ACT OF WORSHIP TO BE ACCEPTED:

1) SINCERITY: DONE ONLY FOR THE SAKE OF ALLAH ALONE

2) AND DONE UPON THE SUNNAH OF THE PROPHET ﷺ

IF EITHER IS MISSING, THE ACT IS REJECTED!
