Sunnahs of Ed-ul-Fitr

Photo: Assalamualaikoum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu.

The Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on the first of the lunar month of Shawwal. This religious day is an expression of thanks-giving to Allah the Almighty for His grace in enabling His faithful servants to observe the fasting month of Ramadan, besides the daily Tarawih Prayers, recitation of the Qur’an and works of charity. ALHAMDULILLAH.

Sunnahs of Ed-ul-Fitr.
The following eleven things have been prescribed to be done on Ed-ul-Fitr;
⇨1. To rise early in the morning.
⇨2. To brush the teeth.
⇨3. To have bath for Eid after the Fajr Prayer.
⇨4. To put on the best available dress.
⇨5. To use perfume.
⇨6. To arrange for one’s personal adornment and decoration.
⇨7. To give away ‘Eid Charity (Zaka-ul-Fitr) before departure for the Eid ground.
⇨8. To eat something sweet like od dates before going for the ‘Eid Prayer.
⇨9. To reach the ‘Eid ground to Masjid as early as possible.
⇨10. To walk to the ‘Eid ground by one way and return by the other; however, there is no harm if one rides back home.
⇨11. To pronounce softly the following Takbir on the way:
Alla-u Akbar, Allah-u Akbar [Allah is greatest Allah is greatest]
La-Ilaha ill-Allah [There is no God but Allah]
wa-Allah-u Akbar, Allah-u Akbar [and Allah is greatest Allah is greatest]
wa-lillah-il-hamd [and all praise is for Allah.]

⇨Before the Eid al-Fitr salat, make sure to pay the Sadaqah Al-Fitr. Every Muslim must pay this as a contribution for the poors.

Ibn ‘Umar (Allah be pleased with him) said, “The Messenger of Allah, (peace be upon him), made zakat al-Fitr obligatory for the Muslims; slave and free, male and female, young and old, being a sa’ of dates or a sa’ of barley. He commanded that it be paid before people went out to the prayer.” (Muwatta, Book 17, 52)

Eid Mubarak to you and your family, may the blessing of Allah be upon us all. Ameen. Stay blesseD.
