It was narrated that Jaabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) cursed the one who consumes riba and the one who pays it, the one who writes it down and the two who witness it, and he said: they are all the same. (Muslim 1598)
“Allah will destroy Riba and will give increase for Sadaqaat (deeds of charity, alms). And Allah likes not the disbelievers, sinners” [al-Baqara 2:276]
And the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Even if riba increases a thing, its consequences lead to loss.” Narrated by Ahmad (1/395)
“O you who believe! Fear Allah and give up what remains (due to you) from Riba (from now onward) if you are (really) believers. And if you do not do it, then take a notice of war from Allah and His Messenger but if you repent, you shall have your capital sums. Deal not unjustly (by asking more than your capital sums), and you shall not be dealt with unjustly (by receiving less than your capital sums)” [al-Baqara 2:278-279].
Riba bases home loans, vehicle loans, education loans, furniture fixture loans etc., are an open declaration of war against Allah and His Prophet (peace be upon him). The one who has fallen into Riba has to repent to Allah, may He be exalted, and hasten to close down the riba based loan at his earliest as none is sure about his death. Imagine the status of a person who dies in a state of having riba based loan?
