"Our Lord!" (they say) "let not our hearts deviate now after Thou hast guided us but grant us mercy from Thine own Presence; for Thou art the Grantor of bounties without measure.
"O turner of hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion”
(O Allah! Controller of the hearts, direct our hearts to Your obedience)

O Allah, I am Your slave and the son of Your male slave and the son of your female slave. My forehead is in Your Hand (i.e. you have control over me). Your Judgment upon me is assured and Your Decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every Name that You have named Yourself with, revealed in Your Book, taught any one of Your creation or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You, to make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness and the reliever of my distress.
O Allah! Assist me in remembering You, in thanking You, and in worshipping You in the best of manners.
[Sahih Ahmad 5:245, Sahih abu Dawud 2:86, an-Nasa’i].
“O Allah, I ask You for Your love, the love of those who love You, and the actions that make me attain unto Your love. O Allah, make love of You more beloved to me than my self, my wealth, my family, and from cold water.” [Tirmidhi]
(O Allah! I beseech You for guidance, piety, chastity and contentment).
[O Allah! I seek refuge in You from helplessness (to do good), indolence, cowardice, senility, and miserliness; and I seek Your Protection against the torment of the grave and the trials of life and death]
(O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the evil of that which I have done and the evil of that which I have not done).
(O Allah! I seek refuge in You against the declining of Your Favours, passing of safety, the suddenness of Your punishment and all that which displeases You)."
