Narrated `Aishah (RA):

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ الاِلْتِفَاتِ فِي الصَّلاَةِ فَقَالَ هُوَ اخْتِلاَسٌ يَخْتَلِسُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ مِنْ صَلاَةِ الْعَبْدِ

Narrated `Aishah: I asked Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) about looking hither and thither (here and there) in prayer. He (peace be upon him) replied: “It is a way of stealing by which Satan takes away (a portion) from the prayer of a person.”

حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا روایت کرتی ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے نماز میں ادھر ادھر دیکھنے کی بابت پوچھا، تو آپ نے فرمایا کہ یہ ایک قسم کی چوری ہے کہ شیطان بندے کی نماز میں سے کرلیتا ہے۔
