WHEN SOMEONE INSULTS YOU smile emoticon
Recently I was so horribly humiliated. Memories of that humiliation will remain with me forever, reckon that's got something to do with women having emotional memory lol. And when someone humiliates you its very tough to keep quiet and not attack them back or character assassinate them equally. Because lets be honest we all have faults and we can all tear each other apart if we want to especially when the other person is doing so.
This hadith and an ayah from Qur'an kept ringing in my head and wallahi this kept me in limits throughout the entire ordeal.
Sometimes I seriously reflect where I would have been without Islam in my life. heart emoticon

The only response I gave was Allah knows who I am and you are not Allah.

Narrated Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab:
While the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) was sitting with some of his companions, a man reviled AbuBakr and insulted him. But AbuBakr remained silent. He insulted him twice, but AbuBakr controlled himself. He insulted him thrice and AbuBakr took revenge on him. Then the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) got up when AbuBakr took revenge.
AbuBakr said: Were you angry with me, Apostle of Allah?
The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) replied: An angel came down from Heaven and he was rejecting what he had said to you. When you took revenge, a devil came down. I was not going to sit when the devil came down.

And the slaves of the Most Beneficent (Allah) are those who walk on the earth in humility and sedateness, and when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with mild words of gentleness/peace.
