What our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did: ‘Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to fast all of Sha’baan, he used to fast Sha’baan except a few days.”

HAVE A PLAN:How many times have we been excited at the start but without a strong intention or defined goals, our enthusiasm and actions dwindled.
To fast more in this month of Sha’ban, make the intention coupled with a vision – do I intend to fast once or twice a week – if so what days? Or am I able to fast +3 days a week, if so which days?
Someone can intend to fast 4 days a week in Sha’ban but will it be that they fast Monday-Thursday or every other day. Your plan doesn’t have to be inflexible and unchangeable but it helps to create a sense of organization and motivation when you have laid out how you plan to accomplish your goals.
For example if there is a day of the week in which you participate in activities that require a lot of energy, in your plan then maybe you can decide to write off fasting on that day.

ENCOURAGE YOUR FAMILY
Purify your intention and fasting is a private good deed between the slave and His Lord, so we don’t need to make a public announcement of our intention or fasts. But in general terms, you could remind others of this practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). You could also offer to make iftar.
KNOW THE VIRTUESThe summer days are long – but knowing the potential reward could motivate you to keep going in hope of the Pleasure of Allah and His reward in the Hereafter.

“Whoever fasts one day for the sake of Allāh, Allāh will remove him a distance of seventy years’ from the Hell-fire.” [Bukhāri and Muslim]
Imaam Ibn Rajab said: “All deeds are multiplied ten multiples up to seven hundred multiples, except for fasting as its reward does not have a designated limit”. Allah will multiply its reward abundantly without count. Fasting requires great patience and Allah says about patient people that which means: “Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account [i.e. limit],”

IT WILL BE WORTH IT
“The one fasting has two times of joy, when he breaks his fast he is happy and when he meets his lord he will rejoice at his fasting.”

[The people of Jannah will be told], “Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past.”

To end, let’s put our hope in Allah and meeting Him, and hope He accepts our good deeds from us. Ibrahim and Ismaeel (peace be upon them) were building the Ka’bah and they made du’a for Allah SubhanahuwaTa’ala to accept their deed:
And when Abraham was raising the foundations of the House and [with him] Ishmael, [saying], “Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing”.
