Narrated Abu Hurairah:

مَوْلَى التَّيْمِيِّينَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِذَا دَخَلَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ فُتِّحَتْ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ، وَغُلِّقَتْ أَبْوَابُ جَهَنَّمَ، وَسُلْسِلَتِ الشَّيَاطِينُ

Narrated Abu Hurairah: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: “When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained.”

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جب رمضان کا مہینہ آتا ہے تو آسمان کے دروازے کھول دئیے جاتے ہیں اور شیطان زنجیروں میں جکڑ دئیے جاتے ہیں۔

Chapter: Should it be said "Ramadan" or "the month of Ramadan"? And whoever thinks that both are permissible.
