Belief in Allah also necessitates ......

Belief in Allah also necessitates love for His sake, hate for His sake, and making friends and enemies for His sake…

Allah says:

"O' you who believe! Do not take those (Christians and Jews) as friends."

And this is a text indicating "tahreem" that it is haraam or forbidden to take the Christians or Jews in particular as friends. And in another ayah it indicates that those who take them as friends are similar to them. And Allah said in general, showing that it is haraam to take the disbelievers, whether they be from the Jews or the Christians or the Mushriks or whatever or other Mushriks or whatever, that it is haraam to take them as friends - when He says:

"O you who believe! Do not take My Enemies and your enemies as friends."

So there is a general forbiddance of taking any disbeliever, any mushrik as a friend. And there is a particular forbiddance for taking the Christian and the Jew as a friend and having any type of loyalty or friendship or love for those individuals.

And Allah has forbidden in general for us to have loyalty or closeness or support or friendship for those who may be the closest to us in the nature and the closest to us in family ties. Wherein He indicates in one ayah that we should not take those who are our fathers or our brothers or other than that as our friends when they have decided that they love kuffar over imaan.

Every Muslim must hate the people of shirk and the people of kufr.

لا تجد قوما يؤمنون بالله واليوم الاخر يوادون من حاد الله ورسوله ولو كانوا اباءهم او ابناءهم او اخوانهم او عشيرتهم اولئك كتب في قلوبهم الايمان وايدهم بروح منه ويدخلهم جنات تجري من تحتها الانهار خالدين فيها رضي الله عنهم ورضوا عنه اولئك حزب الله الا ان حزب الله هم المفلحون

You will never find any people who truly believe in Allah and the Last Day, loving those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even though they were their fathers or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred. For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with a spirit from Himself...

[Qur'ān 58:22]

The true believers in Allah and His Messenger do not befriend the disbelievers.

Allah said,

﴿لاَّ يَتَّخِذِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْكَـفِرِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ اللَّهِ فِي شَىْءٍ إِلاَ أَن تَتَّقُواْ مِنْهُمْ تُقَـةً وَيُحَذِّرْكُمُ اللَّهُ نَفْسَهُ﴾

Let not the believers take the disbelievers as friends instead of the believers, and whoever does that will never be helped by Allah in any way, except if you indeed fear a danger from them. And Allah warns you against Himself. [Qur'an 3:28]
