Between Us And You Are The Books Of The Salaf

Shaykh Rabee ibn Hadee al-Madkhalee:

Hold fast onto the rope of Allaah, and [the thing] that will assist you and will be like the sun for you [in shedding light upon this path] is that you return to the understanding of the Pious Predecessors, and [their understanding] is widespread and available for you [in books, tapes and lessons of the scholars] – as I have previously mentioned to you.

And this is a challenge for whoever disputes this, we challenge the people of innovations and desires, [whether they’re] people of innovations in beliefs, or people of political innovations, we say, “Between us and you is the Salaf, between us and you are the books [of the Salaf]”.

Imam Ahmed used to say to the people of innovations, “Between us and you are the funeral prayers” and likewise we say this and we say, “Between us and you are the books [of the Salaf]” they are available [to read and purchase]. Allaah said to his Messenger, ‘Say [O Muhammed], “Bring here the Taurat [Torah] and recite it, if you are truthful.” So they [the Jews] would come with the Torah and it would expose them.

As for these [innovators], we will bring the books of the Salaf, the Quran and the Sunnah. We will bring the books of al-Bukharee, Muslim, Abu Dawood, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nisaa’ee and what Ahmed and other than him authored. We will bring these and [find out] who is upon their way and who threw it away and opposed them!

Just as Allah challenged the Jews to bring the Torah, and when the Torah was brought , it exposed them. We likewise challenge them (innovators) to bring the books of the Salaf in order to clarify who amongst us is deviated and to put the innovators amongst us or them to shame

Are they able to challenge us? Are they able to open their mouths and say this? We fill our mouths with every courage, we challenge each person who claims that we upon other than the methodology of the Salafus Saalih

By Allah, we call the methodology of the Salafus Saalih, the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, and we bring them as testimony in our beliefs, our worship, our stances (in regards to the relationship between) the leaders and the citizens and (in refuting) groups and sects in light of the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah

As for the others (the people of innovation), they are upon trickery and deception. By Allaah, you will not find with them except trickery and playing with the emotions of the youth."
