The Unbelievable Reward for Praying In The Masjid

Every step you take towards the masjid will shed away one sin, earn you a reward and raise your status in Jannah by one degree (those staying further away from masjid must take this opportunity).

Furthermore, a person gets the reward of salah as soon as he enters the masjid and waits for the prayer to begin.

On top of this, the angels keep on asking for Allah's forgiveness for him, and they keep on saying: “O Allah! Be Merciful to him, O Allah! Forgive him”, as long as he keeps on sitting at his praying place (for e.g. after the prayer has ended), and does not pass wind. [Bukhari Book 1 Volume 8 Hadith 466]

And what is the significance of promotion in Jannah by one degree for each step? Jannah has many levels, and the higher one goes, the better it gets.

The starting salary of a slave of Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala) in Jannah in TEN TIMES the world and everything in it, plus whatever he sees and likes from the properties and delights in Jannah, and on top of that, whatever his heart may desire. [al-Bukhâri 11/386, Muslim with slight variation, #186, Tirmidhi #2598 in Safah Jahanam, Ch. 10]

Then he will enter his house [in Paradise] and his two wives from among al-hûr al-'îyn will enter and say, "Praise be to Allâh (swt) who has created you for us and created us for you". He will say, "No one has ever been given anything like that which I have been given." [reported by Muslim #188]

So if that is the reward for the lowest person in Jannah, what about the people in the higher levels? It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The people of Paradise will be able to see the people in the apartments above them as you see the shining stars on the horizon in the east and the west, because of the differences in their status.” [Narrated by al-Bukhaari #2082; Muslim #2831]

Let us start going to the masjid now, so that by the time Ramadan comes, it becomes a habit, and we can earn SEVENTY TIMES greater reward than what is mentioned above. May Allah grant us taufeeq.
