When you have fever, who do you ask for help?

When you have fever, who do you ask for help? Can your friends help you? Can you help yourself? No. How many times has it happened that you were in deep trouble, and you called everyone you knew to ask them for help, and none of them were of any use? And then you started saying oh Allah, oh Allah, and so Allah (SwT) sent help?

When you are in the grave, can anyone other than Allah (SwT) protect you? On the Day of Judgement, can your friends save you from the Hellfire? Will the people you know sacrifice themselves to save you? No.

In all of the above examples, we see that no one except Allah (SwT) can help. So, if no one except Allah (SwT) can help, why should it matter what other people do, say or think? Who cares what my friends are doing? Who cares what other people think of me? As long as I am trying to make Allah (SwT) happy, nothing else, and no one else, matters. We see so many signs in our life that teach us that nothing and no one else matters except Allah (SwT). Then why do we take others as gods besides Allah? Why do we listen to others even they tell the opposite of what Allah (SwT) wants? It is as Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala) says in Surah Yunus, verse 22, translated as:

"He it is Who enables you to travel through land and sea, till when you are in the ships and they sail with them with a favourable wind, and they are glad therein, then comes a stormy wind and the waves come to them from all sides, and they think that they are encircled therein, Then they invoke Allâh, making their Faith pure for Him Alone, (saying): "If You (Allâh) deliver us from this, we shall truly be of the grateful." But when He deliveres them, behold! they rebel (disobey Allâh) in the earth wrongfully. O mankind! Your rebellion (disobedience to Allâh) is only against your ownselves, - a brief enjoyment of this worldly life, then (in the end) unto Us is your return, and We shall inform you that which you used to do." (Surah Yunus, verses 22-23)

Oh Allah, Lord of the worlds, I have not been able to worship You as You deserve to be worshipped. So forgive me, and allow me to purify my worship, my life, my death, my hope and fear, my love and my hate, and my obedience for YOUR sake only. Ameen.
