BOTH the one who does it & gets it done are CURSED & if hair falls out due to sickness its still haram to add false hair, also even if HUSBAND asks for it:
> An Ansari girl was married and she became sick and all her hair fell out intending to provide her with false hair. They asked the Prophet (SAW) who said: "Allah has CURSED the lady who ARTIFICIALLY LENGTHENS (her or someone else's) hair and also the one who gets her hair lengthened" [Sahih Muslim 2123 & Sahih al-Bukhari 5934]
> Prophet (SAW) said: "May Allah curse the one who adds hair extensions and the one who has them added, the one who does tattoos and the one who has them done.” [Al-Bukhaari: 5937 & Muslim: 2122]
> Prophet (SAW) forbade women to attach anything to their head" [Muslim (2126)]
> Shaykh ibn Uthaymeen said: Attaching hair to the hair of the head (hair extensions) is HARAAM; indeed it is a MAJOR SIN, because the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) cursed the one who does that.
> Prophet (SAW) labelled such practice, (i.e. the use of false hair), as CHEATING" [Sahih al-Bukhari 5938]
> "Prophet (SAw) cursed the woman who adds some false hair and the woman who asks for it, the woman who tattoos and the woman who asks for it" [Sunan Abi Dawud 4168: classed as Saheeh by Albani]
> Her HUSBAND wants that false hair should be aaded to her head. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (SAW) said: "The woman who adds false hair has been cursed" [Sahih Muslim 2123]
False EYELASHES: come under the same heading, because the real eyelashes are extended with the false ones.
Doctors have mentioned that false eyelashes lead to chronic allergies in the skin and eyes, and to infection in the eyelids, and may cause the eyelashes to fall out. So using them is harmful, and Prophet (SAW) said: “There should be neither harming nor reciprocating harm.” See Zeenat al-Mar’ah bayna al-Tibb wa’l-Shar’. P. 33.
Wearing a WIG: is haraam in principle, even if it is for a woman to adorn herself for her husband, and that it comes under the heading of hair extensions, which are haraam.
But it is permissible to wear a wig in order to cover a defect in the case of a woman who is bald. This is the view of Shaykh al-‘Uthaymeen (rahimullah alaihi), unlike other contemporary scholars who regard that as coming under the same heading as hair extensions which are haraam.
